Remembrance
Remembrance
In keeping with the tradition of giving tzedakah to honor our loved ones' memories, memorial plaques, stained glass windows, and listings in Adath Israel's Yizkor Book are available for purchase.
Family and friends may also send synagogue fund tributes, which are printed in our quarterly bulletin, to honor those whom we have lost.
Yahrzeit Memorial Plaques
- Plaques of remembrance are $425 each.
- Contact the Main Office at (610) 934-1919 for assistance with ordering your plaque.
- Click HERE to access the purchase form.
It is a sacred custom to light a memorial candle and recite the Mourners’ Kaddish for a loved one on the day of the yahrzeit, the Hebrew anniversary of a death, beginning the night before. At Adath Israel, we read the name of every yahrzeit on the date of this commemoration, at daily services, on Friday night at Shabbat services, and on holidays. Memorial Plaques are automatically lit on yahrzeit dates.
Yizkor Book of Remembrance
- Names may be added each year to our Yizkor Book of Remembrance during the summer months, leading up to the High Holidays. Forms are available each year in the main office to renew your current listing or add names.
Kaddish
- Morning and evening minyan are held at the synagogue seven days a week. Kaddish is said with a minyan (minimum of 10 attendees).
