2004/2005 - A YEAR OF INVOLVEMENT AND LEADERSHIP --Adath Israel wins USY International Chapter of the Year for the year 2004

Adath Isreal was nominated for International Chapter of the Year and in December 2004--we won! What a great honor!

Some of the highlight events of the past year include our Vermonsterfest Event with Beth Am Israel, which was a big ice cream eating contest--we don't even want to know how much we ate! And our largest event was the Falafelfest Dance, which was a combination Chapter Dance (with other chapters from the region attending) and Israeli information night. We had a mock Western Wall built, a booth with some Israeli Items (plus items from our gift shop), and Israeli Foods such as Bissli Snacks and Falafel. We were proud to have over 300 people in attendance!

We did lots of service too--From Build-a-Bear to Tikkun Olam and much more. And we had lots of fun doing it.

The Youth Commission works with the Adath Israel youth groups (USY and Kadima) to encourage and support programming.

USY and Kadima provide social, fundraising and mitzvah activities from 5th grade through 7th grade (Kadima) and 8th through 12th grades (USY) on both a local and regional level.

Thanks to the recent renovations, our youth groups now have their own home! Our Youth Lounge contains everything needed for a great time: TV, DVD player, air hockey table, karaoke machine and more. Be sure to stop by next time you're in the synagogue.
